Aaron Wilson

Writer / Director / Producer

Aaron was born in rural Australia and has lived and worked in and around his neighbouring South-East Asian region. He works as a director and writer across film, VR, multi-platform and installation. He is drawn to narratives that explore human vulnerability, and connection between peoples across neighbouring country and cultural divides. 

In 2006, he was selected to take part in a filmmaker residency program with The Objectifs Centre for Filmmaking and Photography in Singapore where he developed the script for his debut feature, CANOPY (TIFF 2013). LITTLE TORNADOES is his second feature. 

Aaron is represented in Australia by Jennifer Naughton (RGM, Sydney) and in the US by Dave Brown (Echo Lake Entertainment, LA).

CHRISTOS TSIOLKAS

CO-WRITER

Christos Tsiolkas is one of Australia’s preeminent novellists. LOADED, was made into the feature film HEAD ON, and DEAD EUROPE won the 2006 Age Fiction Prize and 2006 Melbourne Best Writing Award. He won Overall Best Book in the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize 2009, was shortlisted for the 2009 Miles Franklin Literary Award, longlisted for the 2010 Man Booker Prize and won the Australian Literary Society Gold Medal for his novel, THE SLAP (adapted for TV in 2011). MERCILESS GODS was adapted for the stage in 2019. His recent novels include BARRACUDA (adapted for TV in 2017) and DAMASCUS (released in 2019). Christos is also a playwright, essayist and screenwriter.

STEFAN DUSCIO

CINEMATOGRAPHER

Stefan grew up in Cobram, in rural Australia, with a love of visual arts. Making films and comic books from an early age, he later studied Media Arts at RMIT University Melbourne. 

Continuing his love of narrative and images, he has since shot numerous commercials, music videos, shorts, and ten feature films — including: THE DRY, THE INVISIBLE MAN, UPGRADE, JUDY & PUNCH, BACKTRACK, JUNGLE, ACUTE MISFORTUNE, and CANOPY. 

CINDY CLARKSON

PICTURE EDITOR

Cindy is an experienced editor, having freelanced in picture and sound traversing the change from film to non-linear systems. Her first feature film as picture/sound editor was on Alkinos Tsilimidos’ EVERYNIGHT EVERYNIGHT and as a dialogue editor on Fred Schepisi’s IQ. Her editing feature credits include ODDBALL, WARRIORS OF VIRTUE II, THE MAN WHO SOULED THE WORLD, CORROBOREE, VAN DIEMEN’S LAND, X and CANOPY. 

ROBERT MACKENZIE

COMPOSER

Robert is an Oscar® and Bafta award-winning sound editor and mixer. His work includes ANIMAL KINGDOM, THE HUNTER, LORE, THE GRANDMASTER, ASHES OF TIME REDUX, THE ROVER, PARTISAN, LION and HACKSAW RIDGE (winning an Oscar® for Best Sound Mixing and nominated for Best Sound Editing). Robert has previously collaborated with Aaron on CANOPY, and on his short films as sound designer and composer. 

TIM BURGIN

PRODUCTION DESIGNER

Tim has experience on a large body of work including feature films, documentaries, short films, music videos and art installations, many of which have won awards internationally. A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts School of Film & Television, he has worked under the mentorship of veteran Australian production designer Neil Angwin. A true practitioner of character and the mise-en-scène Tim has brought his meticulous eye for detail to dramatic recreations in documentaries and films. He is also a founding member of the artist collective Gädda, Scout & Luxemburg.

RODNEY LOWE

SOUND DESIGNER

Rodney has over 40 years of experience in film, television, music, advertising and digital media. He has collaborated with the film’s director on his TV commercial work as well as on his previous feature, CANOPY. Rodney and his producer Les Molnar run Production Alley, and they have numerous awards around the world for their work in audio production.

CJ DOBSON

COLOURIST

CJ is a colourist in all areas of film TV and commercials. She has over 10 years of experience colouring at some of the industry’s leading post production facilities including Digital Pictures, iloura, and Method Studios, working on films such as RELIC, HIGH GROUND, ESCAPE FROM PRETORIA and TANNA. 

Maria Tsoukas

Costume Designer

Maria has designed costumes for numerous film and theatre productions in Australia and the UK. Her film credits include: CANOPY, CRAWL, GOLDFIELD and THE WILDING.  

SUSAN SCHMIDT

PRODUCER

Susan is a highly experienced executive with a broad filmmaking and business background. 

Independently and until recently as Head of Production and Business Affairs at Mint Pictures she oversaw the physical productions and managed all the business aspects including funding, production and distribution. Susan has worked on the production of more than 30 hours of multi award winning quality factual TV content. 

Recent productions she worked on include the phenomenal launch of slow TV in Australia, THE GHAN, the widely acclaimed blue-chip arts series THE ARCHIBALD for Foxtel, and the documentary series THE POOL for ABC.

IAN ANDERSON

PRODUCER

Ian is one of Australia’s foremost post-production specialists, working closely with filmmakers to ensure creative integrity on all of his projects. His expertise has been instrumental on numerous Australian productions and large-scale international films posted in Australia. 

With over 30 years experience, he recently received Film Victoria’s John Howie Award for outstanding leadership, achievement and service to the industry. Ian previously held the role of Executive Producer at Deluxe Digital Pictures, one Australia’s largest post facilities, where he was dedicated to evolving talent & providing world-class services & solutions. He is currently consulting and producing for a variety of film projects. 

CHRISTIAN PAZZAGLIA

PRODUCER

Christian is the producer of the critically acclaimed feature film / live cinema performance MIRACULOUS TRAJECTORIES, directed by one of China’s leading visual artists, Cheng Ran. 

Previously he co-produced the feature film YAMATO (KARIFORUNIA), directed by the award-winning Japanese filmmaker Daisuke Miyazaki. Previous professional experience includes roles as film festival artistic director, and multidisciplinary curator for various festivals and cultural institutions in Europe and Australia. 

KATRINA FLEMING

PRODUCER

Katrina Fleming is a Creative Producer, Post Producer, Script Development Executive and Director/Writer of film & TV content. Katrina is developing Australian films and co-productions with the USA and UK, with a focus on mainstream, family friendly comedies/drama/ adventure films.
